Virtual Assistant in Portsmouth and Hampshire: Local Admin Support for Small Businesses

If you run a small business in Portsmouth or elsewhere in Hampshire and the admin is eating your evenings, you don’t need to hire an employee to get help. I’m Sam, a Portsmouth-based Virtual Assistant, and I’ve been supporting busy small business owners since 2014.

What is a Virtual Assistant?

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a self-employed professional who looks after your admin remotely. I work from home with my own equipment, and you pay only for the hours you need. Emails, enquiries, bookings, diaries, documents and all the little jobs that swallow your week can be handed over to someone who loves getting things in order.

Do you need a VA who’s local?

Honestly, no. Working virtually means I can support you wherever you are, and I work with clients UK-wide. But there are some real advantages to having your VA just down the road.

  • Same working day. I’m on UK time, so your enquiries are answered while your customers are awake.
  • Local knowledge. I know the area, which helps when I’m booking appointments, speaking to your customers or researching suppliers.
  • A real person nearby. You’re working with one named person who knows your business, not a call centre or an agency rota.

So whether you’re in Portsmouth, Southsea, Portchester, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, Southampton or Winchester, or anywhere else in the UK, I can help.

Who I work with

My clients are small business owners. I’ve supported wedding, beauty, coaching and professional services businesses, both locally and further afield. It all began when I helped a friend’s busy wedding hair and make-up business keep on top of enquiries, bookings and a team of freelance artists. You can read more of that story on my About page.

What I can take off your plate

  • Inbox and clients: email management, replying to new enquiries, phone cover, bookings and appointments.
  • Admin and organisation: calendar management, data entry and spreadsheets, documents, minutes and note taking.
  • Marketing and online: social media scheduling, newsletters in Mailchimp or Flodesk, simple websites and checkouts, and online research.

There’s a fuller list on my Services & Packages page. If you can’t see what you need, just ask. If I can’t do it, I’ll tell you honestly and point you to someone who can.

How it works

  1. A free chat. Tell me what’s taking up your time. No pressure and no jargon, just a friendly call to see if we’re a good fit.
  2. A simple plan. We agree which tasks I’ll take on and the monthly package that suits you, then I get set up with access to what I need.
  3. Hand it over. I get on with it, and we check in weekly so you always know where things are.

What does it cost?

Monthly support starts from £300 for 10 hours. My most popular package is £600 for 20 hours, which works out at around an hour a day. For a full breakdown, read my guide to how much a Virtual Assistant costs in the UK.

What clients say

Sam has had a very important part in transforming us into an organised, successful business.
